An Ambiguous Odyssey

Here is my interpretation of the tracks, Experience No.1 and Glow, taken from the Album International Peoples Gang 3395.

The ambiguous tones lead you on a disorientated journey of discovery. Questioning whether you are travelling underwater or through outer space.

Interpretations and Influences

Brainstorming or thought showering ideas is something that I have done before, however I am unaccustomed at creating mind maps. Listening to the music and recording my emotions in this way is something I have never done until now.

Although I have no affinity for the Music presented to me, I never realised until doing the listening exercise that music could be so influential and affect all your senses. It caused me to feel nausea and disorientated. My interpretation of music is sounds that possess a degree of melody, or harmony, in reflection the music presented was disjointed and somewhat disturbing. Despite these feelings I was able to form a positive review of the CD.

Currently I have created only the two mood boards that relate to just a couple of the tracks from the album. I am excited at the prospect of creating more visual interpretations and should enjoy the other task of identifying influential logo designs.

Tasks for the week:
  1. Collect major company and Record companies logos - annotate them
  2. Think about how can the word 'Emit' be visually represented?
  3. Post more visuals that represent my progression of thought related to the CD.

The International Peoples Gang

This unique hypnotic album offers the listener a passport into a surreal phantasmal world. Twisting the synaesthetic connections of the brain through an assortment of distorted instrumentals. Transporting the listener to the edge of their perceptions, giving them an uplifting spiritual journey to experience isolation, disorientation, and eventually a feeling of total contentment.

Enlightened A5signment

I feel enlightened by this learning experience and thrilled that the final website is a refined version of the original concept. A felt like a cloud had been lifted off my shoulders on Monday when I handed in the completed assignment.
Despite making several silly mistakes during the build of this website, I now feel more confident that if I were asked to design it again, I could do it in a quarter of the time it original took me.

I wait in eager anticipation of the reading week exercise, sorry listening week exercise and the first task next Monday.
